Why You Should Consider a Dentist that Gives Back to Their Community
Let's be frank everything you do in life can be evaluated in a few different ways. Because we're Americans, we think mostly in capitalist and democratic terms we want to know "what's in it for me" and "will this make me more or less ''free'?" As a country, we believe that with each citizen allowed to pursue their own enlightened self-interest is going to provide us with the kind of society we want.
Bringing it back around to dentistry or at least to the consumer's take on dentistry that means that the typical American looks for a dentist that is going to provide excellent value per dollar and is going to allow the customer to make the final decision about what happens with their own mouth. But that's almost every dentist in the phone book.
So there has to be more to it: something that sets one dentist apart from another in a meaningful fashion. During the holiday season especially, there are lots of folks in need in local communities throughout the country. Our economy has been hurting for several years now, and there are a lot of people this year that will not be able to enjoy the holidays the way they would like.
A dentist that sets themselves apart understands this. They are the kind of office that prides itself on giving back to our community and that ought to matter to consumers. As Americans, we focus a lot on our national citizenship and what it means to be an American, but how often do we ask what it means to be from Orange County or whatever community you happen to be from? How often do we ponder what our community, local government, and neighbors do for us?
A good dentist believes that their local community can and should be an example for the nation. It is our responsibility as citizens to try and give something back to those at home that have given us so much. And when it comes to choosing a local dentist, one of the considerations ought to be their local involvement.
This should be fairly easy to research. Just do a 'Google' search for the dentist you are considering and add the words "community involvement", or just look over their website. Look at their level of participation with local causes and charities. In addition, look at what they are doing in their office to foster a healthy and sustainable environment this is another way they contribute to the well-being of the local community.
So here's the bottom line: imagine you have two roughly identical dentists. Both give excellent service at reasonable prices. Both are successful, stunningly good-looking, and of course modest. But one of those dentists encourages everyone at his/her office to donate their time, money and energy to causes that benefit the community you live in and the people you touch every day. And the other...not as much.
Here are some examples:
All other factors being equal, the choice is rather obvious, isn't it?
