As We Enjoy Summer and Celebrate Our Independence, It's Important to Remember that Freedom Isn't Free
July is truly one of our favorite months here at the office. We love enjoying the beauty of outdoor life here in the O.C. We also like July because it is a time to reflect on the blessings we have received just for living in this great nation.
To us, celebrating our independence is not just a time for barbeques and fireworks. It is also a time to be thankful for the sacrifices of those that have gone before us to make our country free and prosperous.
This is why we are still talking about it even though it is already toward the end of July because we believe that commemorating our freedoms should be more than just a one-day event.
We mentioned last month about the large number of military families we have here in Orange County. When you bump into them in the local stores, on the streets, or wherever, remember to stop and say "thanks" for all they do to keep our nation free.
There is one other thing we want to address regarding our freedoms using them responsibly. When it comes to your oral health, this means doing the right things to ensure that your teeth stay healthy for the long term.
Sure, you are 'free' to completely neglect brushing your teeth, flossing, coming in for checkups every 6 months, and eating foods that promote oral health. But if you do this, it will cost you much more of your freedoms later on in the form of damaged teeth or even serious diseases such as mouth cancer.
So this July, let's remember that freedom is not totally free it always comes with a cost. Whether that be the price of defending our freedoms, or the need to act responsibly, we must all play a part in keeping ourselves free and healthy.
From all of us to all of you we hope you enjoy the rest of our beautiful summer here in Southern California, and don't forget to come in for your regular checkups.
