Tooth Whitening

Experience the confidence that comes from flashing the world a bright, white smile. You might be happy with the alignment and spacing of your teeth.  However, time has dulled or yellowed your smile's color.  Tooth whitening is scientifically proven to be safe, effective and long lasting. Your custom home whitening kit involves a special tray that is customized to fit over your teeth and prescription whitening gel, which is inserted into the tray before you wear it. Dr. Johnson gives you detailed instructions about use and how long you should wear the tray each day.  In approximately two weeks you have a dazzling, white smile.

**Note: Laser teeth whitening has been shown to cause high levels of tooth pain and sensitivity in many people, as well as a shorter lasting effect of the actual whitening. Because of these problems, Dr. Johnson chooses to not offer this service.

Porcelain Bridges

Sometimes gum disease, injury, decay or simply wear results in the loss of teeth. Missing teeth cause you to chew differently, may cause mouth pain and, as your remaining teeth work to compensate for the loss, gaps and spaces form that only make the situation worse. A porcelain bridge keeps your smile aligned and your bite functional. Your bridge securely fits to existing teeth or crowns on either side of the missing tooth. Because the restoration looks like real teeth in shape and in color, no one will ever know you have one. 

Porcelain Crowns

Your teeth undergo a tremendous amount of stress during your lifetime. Teeth may show this wear in a variety of ways, including discoloration, chipping and cracking.  Erase the wear and tear caused over time and reclaim your beautiful, flawless smile with porcelain crowns!  Sometimes called "caps," porcelain crowns cover your damaged teeth and are a durable, strong, long lasting method of enhancing both the look and functionality of your smile. After some preparation of the tooth that will receive the crown, Dr. Johnson positions a custom sculpted, natural looking porcelain crown over your damaged tooth, restoring and revitalizing your oral health.

Tooth Colored Fillings

Are you embarrassed about your smile because of decayed, disfigured or discolored teeth?  Do you know you need a filling but dread the idea of metal fillings attracting negative attention to your smile?  If yes, tooth colored fillings are your answer!  When decay is removed from the tooth, it is replaced with "filling" material. In the past, mercury amalgam (silver) fillings were placed into the cleaned out portion of the tooth.  With advancements in dentistry, you now have the choice of flawless, tooth-colored fillings. Perfectly matching your existing teeth, you may even elect to remove your old silver fillings in favor of new, undetectable tooth-colored fillings. All the world sees is your gorgeous smile!

Bonding

Bonding is a tooth-colored material applied and adhered to the surface of the tooth, frequently without reducing the integrity and structure of the tooth. Dr. Johnson artistically sculpts the material to create your new, natural-looking tooth.  Correct any chipped and broken teeth, discolored teeth and even gaps through bonding.  Bonding is more conservative procedure than veneers but doesn’t last as long and is vulnerable to stains like a natural tooth.

Gum Recontouring

Are you embarrassed because of excess visible gum tissue every time you smile?  If you are one of the many people suffering from a "gummy smile", you probably are not aware of the treatments available to cosmetically enhance the look of your gums. Dr. Johnson reshapes the appearance of your gum tissue using a laser- eliminating the need for invasive surgeries and stitches.  You are left with a brilliant, head-turning smile that looks natural and proportioned.
